The
Story
On March 22, 1999 a
very special and miraculous birth took place on a small ranch in
Acton, California. Miss Fancy Fols, an elegant all black retired
racehorse was getting ready to perform her annual duty as a
brood mare. As the foaling date neared she was exceptionally
large but showed no unusual characteristics or signs of
discomfort. After all, the sonogram in earlier months had shown
one foal and all appeared normal. She gratefully laid
down that morning and delivered a beautiful black and white
Tobiano colt. The owner of mare and foal Debbie Anderson, was
absolutely thrilled with this first born Paint on her Appaloosa
ranch. While happily admiring the new colorful baby, Fancy laid
down once again and with a kicking force out came an all black
feisty filly, more than anxious to join her brother.
The chance of both
twins surviving was truly a miracle. Only one in 90,000 equine
births results in twins and usually one or both foals die. As
you will see in this site (and
www.sacreddogranch.com), a miracle did happen that day. Both
horses now four years old, are truly a unique blessing to those
of us who own them and have watched them grow. Magic 15.2hh the
handsome stud colt remains at Sacred Dog Ranch. Sky 15hh is my
muscle-packed black beauty who spends her time with Stormy 16hh
her majestic two year old all black half-brother (Fancy’s foal
born 2001) See New Generations |
